Richard B. Cheney is an American public servant, businessman and politician. Cheney, a well-known face in Washington politics, has served under four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush decided to choose Cheney to be his running mate as the vice-presidential race in July 2000. He cited his experience and knowledge. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for a president. He also served as an elected Member of Congress as well as the secretary of defense. Both Republicans and Democrats respect him for his integrity. Cheney believes his role as a member of his position in the Bush Administration is to be a candid but discrete advisor. Cheney, who accepted the Republican Vice-Presidential nominating in 2007 said the he would be looking forward to being under a President who is able to work across party lines and work with political rivals through goodwill and a shared purpose. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on the 30th of January, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When Richard Bruce Cheney turned 13 the family of Richard Bruce Cheney relocated from Lincoln Nebraska to Casper Wyoming in the state where his father worked for his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's regional conservation districts.
